A new year and a new interior design season are just around in the corner. Will the coming year be a better one for your firm? You can help to ensure that it is by taking time now to plan your marketing strategies in order to attract more of the clients you want.
Start by evaluating the results you got from your marketing efforts this year. How effective was your website in driving traffic to your firm? Did it bring you the kind of clients and projects you expected and wanted? Was the return in activity and revenues worth what you invested in your site? Apply the same kind of analysis to other marketing you did last year, such as printed materials, listings with referral services and directories, and social media platforms like Houzz, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. If you are not satisfied with the results you got, was it because you are not positioning yourself to reach the type of client you want to attract, or is it that your marketing materials are not communicating the right brand and messaging to that client? Where you got a good result, what seemed to make the difference? Based on your analysis, put your effort in the year ahead on strengthening your branding and messaging, and focus your outreach on the media that are working best for you. Investing in a few effective marketing strategies will bring better results than trying to spread yourself too thin.
